Eddyville to Fredonia
The U.S. 641 project, from Eddyville to Fredonia, aims to better connect the region and improve safety and mobility. The proposed expansion would connect with a recently completed US 641 improvement project between Fredonia and Marion and extend the corridor improvements to Eddyville, near the Interstate 69/US 62 interchange.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is currently studying potential routes for the road with a goal of selecting a preferred alternative that will be shared with the public when its engineering studies are completed.
Among the key factors being considered by KYTC are:
- Impacts to farms, homes, businesses, private and public properties
- Current and long-term transportation needs
- Wetland impacts
- Cost to complete
The Cabinet has reviewed more than a dozen potential routes in the area shown below but
HAS NOT yet selected a preferred route or set a timetable for the start of construction on the project.
