BRIDGE MAINTENANCE AND DESIGN BRANCH
The Bridge Maintenance and Design Branch prepares plans for new highway structures (bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other miscellaneous structures) determined to be performed with in-house design forces. The branch also prepares plans for repairs and improvements to existing structures and provides expertise and guidance in the area of structural design to other division and district office personnel within the Department of Highways.
BRIDGE REVIEW BRANCH
The Bridge Review Branch provides oversight and contract management of projects designed be external consultants. This branch also provides computer-assisted drafting services and performs the administrative functions for the Division. Like the Bridge and Maintenance Branch, this branch provides structural design expertise and guidance to the Department of Highways.
GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES BRANCH
The Geotechnical Services Branch is responsible for in-house reporting, analysis, and Cabinet support relating to geotechnical engineering (with the exception of research) required for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of roads and bridges under the jurisdiction of the Department of Highways. All requests for Geotechnical Services should be submitted through this Branch.
GEOTECHNICAL SUPPORT AND REVIEW BRANCH
The Geotechnical Support and Review Branch is responsible for in-house laboratory services, special project management and consultant oversight relating to geotechnical engineering required for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of roads and bridges under the jurisdiction of the Department of Highways.
ENGINEERING GEOLOGY AND FIELD SERVICES BRANCH
The Engineering Geology and Field Services Branch is responsible performing and overseeing geotechnical field investigations as well as production and oversight of Engineering Geology aspects of geotechnical work. This includes geo-hazard mitigation, rock slope design, and site or corridor analysis. This Branch provides necessary support for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of roads and bridges under the jurisdiction of the Department of Highways.
