Kentucky law requires that all structures built on or near
an airport, as defined by KRS 183.861, must be approved and permitted
by the Kentucky Airport Zoning Commission. This includes but is not limited to
buildings, antenna towers, water towers, above ground electrical power lines,
runway and taxiway extensions, apron expansion, parking lots, and construction
Any structure that is constructed or operating within the
jurisdictional limits of the Kentucky Airport Zoning Commission must be
approved and permitted.
Temporary Structure Permits are
issued by the Administrator for a maximum duration of four months. This includes but is not limited to construction cranes and similar construction equipment.
