The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety (KOHS) is now accepting both Law Enforcement and Non-Law Enforcement traffic safety grant applications. The grant funding is supplied from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and KOHS is the primary grantee of the NHTSA grant funds. The NHTSA funds are awarded to sub-grantees thru KOHS to help reduce crashes, injuries, fatalities and associated cost by identifying transportation safety issues and developing & implementing effective integrated programs & activities.
Who can submit an application? Local and State Law Enforcement Agencies, Private Institutions of higher education, and Non-Law Enforcement Agencies such as Health Departments and Hospitals. Grants are reimbursed based upon the actual cost that have incurred and been paid by the grantee during the grant cycle.
