Interstate 65 in Louisville will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1- July 31 to speed progress on replacing 3 aging bridges.
The closure will save at least a year of construction restrictions, and a signed detour will be in place. Local street closures and ramp closures will also be needed.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Facility Inventory Map

Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Inventory

The Division of Planning developed this interactive map to depict a statewide inventory of bicycle and pedestrian facilities. These facilities include, but are not limited to, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, shared use paths, crosswalks, and mid-block crossings. The inventory depicted on the map contains inventoried facilities on all state-maintained routes in addtion to some local roads, maintained by counties and cities.

Features in the Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities layer are located within right-of-way and are tied to the adjacent route's centerline. Keep in mind that multiple features can overlap, so using the identify tool is a great way to esnure you're seeing all features along the route section you're looking at. Features in the Full Length Shared Use Path layer show the full alignment of each shared use path feature, meaning they are located inside and outside right-of-way and they are not tied to a route centerline.

Layers on the interactive map include:

  • Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities
  • Full length Shared Use Paths
  • AASHTO Designated United States Bicycle Routes (USBR 21, 23, and 76)
  • AASHTO Identified Corridor United States Bicycle Routes (USBR 25 and 35)

To download a GIS shapefile of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities featured on this map, please click here, then select the "Roadway Features" dropdown menu and navigate to the "Bike/Ped Facilities (BKPD)" zip file. GIS shapefiles of the Shared Use Paths Full Alignments and US Bicycle Routes can be provided upon request. Please reference the email address at the bottom of this page.
