RESOURCES
DEVELOPMENTAL BRANCH RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop criteria, procedures, and policies for highway/roadway design. Ensure consistency of projects.
Offer technical expertise and assistance to project managers, project teams, designers, and others associated with development and delivery of highway projects.
Assist the IT Branch in developing the CADD Standards.
Deliver final projects to the letting process.
Develop and maintain the Standard Drawings used in design and construction.
Incorporate new materials, methods, and technologies into Standard Drawings.
Oversee Survey activity for transportation projects.
Ensure survey methods meet KYTC standards and technological advancements.
Manage and utilize drone technology for project site analysis, inspections, and data collection.
Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and KYTC guidelines for drone operations.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT BRANCH RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Bentley Systems OpenRoads and ProjectWise software, ensuring seamless operation for Kentucky Transportation Cabinet road projects.
Develop, maintain, and distribute CADD standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency in road project design and documentation.
Collaborate with project teams to identify and address technical challenges, providing timely solutions and recommendations.
Stay updated on the latest Bentley software releases and industry best practices to maintain a high level of technical expertise.
Train and mentor team members on the effective use of Bentley software and CADD standards.
Contribute to the development and implementation of new CADD technologies and workflows to enhance project efficiency.
Resolve technical issues and provide troubleshooting assistance to users.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
Participate in the evaluation and selection of new software tools and technologies.
