PAVEMENT DESIGN BRANCH RESPONSIBILITIES

responsible for overseeing the development of pavement structural designs for all Kentucky Transportation Cabinet projects
available to assist District Offices and Consultant Engineers in developing pavement designs
manages pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction projects on all Interstate, Parkway and National Highway System routes

PAVEMENT EVALUATION BRANCH RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessment of pavements to identify pavement distresses
Recommend pavements for rehabilitation
Recommend rehabilitation cycles to improve longevity by ensuring effective allocation of resources

ROADWAY REHABILITATION RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop bid packages and proposals for pavement rehabilitation projects on Interstates, Parkways, US, and KY routes across the Commonwealth
Select, Assign and Manage Statewide Design Consultants working on pavement rehabilitation projects across the Commonwealth
Manage design consultants developing plans for roadway widening and major engineering projects
Provide technical assistance to KYTC employees and design consultants in the interpretation of plans, specifications and policies
Coordinates with KYTC Divisions, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), resource agencies, federal/state/local agencies to facilitate the delivery of engineering projects for letting and construction
