Interstate 65 in Louisville will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1- July 31 to speed progress on replacing 3 aging bridges.
The closure will save at least a year of construction restrictions, and a signed detour will be in place. Local street closures and ramp closures will also be needed.

Reconnecting Central Portland to the Riverfront - Project 05-587.10

Purpose	This project intends to reconnect the community to the waterfront across I-64 and better integrate the highway right-of-way with the surrounding land-use character and context. The benefits include improved connectivity to essential services and local assets for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, as well as enhanced safety for all users.
Project Scope	The overall project is comprised of five components, or “sub-projects: 1. 22nd Street / I-64 Interchange Improvements A.. 22nd St. between Portland Ave. and Northwestern Pkwy. B. 22nd St. between Bank St. and Portland Ave. 2. Access Improvements to Lannan Park and McAlpine Locks 3. Highway Edge Treatments along I-64 Right-of-Way A. Nelligan Ave. Edge Treatment 4. Pedestrian Bridges A. 23rd St. and Lannan Park B. 19th St.

Public Input	At this time, those interested are encouraged to share their input on further developed concepts and help decide which they prefer for each “sub-project” listed above. Feedback gathered from the public will inform the selection of the preferred concepts to advance into the final design phase. Information concerning Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act will be available for anyone interested in signing up for this process. An online survey will be available and remain active for 30 days after the public meeting.
