Interstate 64 lane closures in Jefferson County September 20-30

Lane closures necessary for bridge inspection

Louisville, KY (September 18, 2015) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office advises motorists of upcoming lane closures on Interstate 64 near the Ohio River in Jefferson County. KYTC engineers will be performing the biennial inspection of the I-64 bridges between I-264 (Georgia Powers Expressway) and the Sherman Minton Bridge (mile points 0.0 to 0.8).

Inspection work is scheduled to begin on Sunday evening, September 20. Lane closures are possible in both directions on I-64 Sunday – Thursday from 8:00 p.m. each evening until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Shoulder closures are possible during daytime hours for inspection via bucket truck access.

These inspections should be completed by September 30.
