Interstate 65 in Louisville will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1- July 31 to speed progress on replacing 3 aging bridges. The closure will save at least a year of construction restrictions, and a signed detour will be in place. Local street closures and ramp closures will also be needed. KY 48 repairs in Spencer County continuing through July
Louisville, KY (July 1, 2015) – Maintenance work will continue during the month of July on KY 48 (Highgrove Road) in Spencer County. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) maintenance crews began working in early June to replace cross-drains in various locations on this 4.4-mile long roadway. The section between KY 623 (Lilly Pike) and the Nelson/Spencer County line (mile points 2.5 to 4.4) was completed in mid-June. Crews have been working for the past few weeks on the section between the Nelson/Spencer County line and Gordon Drive (mile points 0.0 to 2.4). It is estimated that it will take another month to complete the repairs.
KY 48 will be closed every Tuesday and Wednesday evening during the month of July. The road will be closed to through traffic from 4:00 p.m. until midnight on those nights. Local access will be maintained for residents on KY 48.
