Traffic changes coming on New Moody Lane in Oldham County

Louisville, KY (June 2, 2015) – Asphalt paving is underway on the new alignment of KY 2857 (New Moody Lane) in Oldham County and changes to the traffic pattern are scheduled for later this week.   Contract crews will be completing paving and pavement striping on the new section of road between Forrest Park Drive and the bridge being built over Interstate 71 (mile points 1.0 to 1.3). The current plan is to switch traffic sometime on Thursday, June 4.

The change will include more than a simple switch from old pavement to the adjacent new pavement.  Motorists on New Moody Lane should also be aware of stop signs that will be installed at the curve in the road near the bridge approach (see map below). Traffic in both directions will be required to stop at this intersection through the remaining months of construction.

This $9.1 million project by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will connect New Moody Lane (KY 2857) and Commerce Parkway.  The new bridge is located approximately one mile southwest of the KY 53 interchange at LaGrange (Exit 22).

Construction began in January 2014 and is currently scheduled for completion in September 2015.  Pedestrian and cyclist facilities are included on the bridge to connect with the existing trail system on Commerce Parkway.  A 10-foot shared use path is being constructed on both sides of New Moody Lane from Meadowbrook Drive to Commerce Parkway.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
