Interstate 264/US 42 Interchange Reconstruction Project
Public meeting to be held on July 24 at Christ Church United Methodist
 
Louisville, KY (July 21, 2014) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will host a public meeting regarding reconstruction of the interchange at Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway) and US 42.  The meeting is scheduled for Thursday evening, July 24 at the Christ Church United Methodist Fellowship Hall, 4614 Brownsboro Road in Louisville.  The meeting will be an open house format where citizens can stop by anytime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.  No formal presentation will be given.
 
The meeting’s purpose is to gain public input on three alternatives for reconstruction of the I-264/US 42 interchange to improve traffic flow and safety at this location.  The project also includes widening of I-264 to three lanes in each direction between Westport Road and Interstate 71. 
 
Handouts containing information about the project and comment sheets will be available at the meeting.  Representatives from KYTC and their design consultant will be in attendance to answer questions from resident and roadway users.  Written comments will be accepted during the meeting and up to 15 days after the meeting at the District 5 Office in Louisville.  The input received will be used to help make future project decisions.
