Purpose​

KY 2050 (Herr Lane) is a key transportation corridor, providing access to nearby neighborhoods, commercial areas, and major arterials such as US 42 and KY 1447 (Westport Road). It also serves as an access route for several nearby schools, including Ballard High School, Kammerer Middle School, Wilder Elementary School, and St. Albert the Great.

KY 2050 (Herr Lane) is classified as a minor arterial and, within the project corridor, consists of two lanes with limited pedestrian facilities. One signalized intersection currently exists at KY 2050 (Herr Lane) and KY 1447 (Westport Road).
The purpose of the KY 2050 (Herr Lane) improvement project is to improve mobility and vehicular access, and enhance safety between Glen Arbor Road and KY 1447 (Westport Road). To accomplish this, KY 2050 (Herr Lane) will be widened and pedestrian facilities improved to create safer environment for all roadway users.​
 

Project ScopeThe project is located along Herr Lane (KY 2050) from the Westport Road (KY 1447) intersection to the Bedford Lane intersection (approximately 0.5 miles).

  • The project is currently in the design phase, with an expected timeline of 2025-2026.
  • KYTC anticipates a construction timeline of 2027-2028.

* The above project milestone dates are subject to change due to changes in funding availability within the next Enacted Highway Plan.
