PurposeThis project will improve vehicular mobility and pedestrian safety throughout the corridor. 
Project Scope
KY 864 (Shelby Street and Logan Street) is to undergo a one-way to two-way conversion between Goss Avenue and East Gray Street. 

Following the conversion, the route of Goss Avenue, Logan Street, Finzer Street, South Campbell Street, and Chestnut Street Connector will remain KY 864.

The corridor currently has 10 signalized intersections, with 4 to be removed and replaced with all-way stops. The remaining six signalized intersections will be rebuilt. The project also provides additional traffic calming measures along the corridor through the construction of curb extensions, set to be installed in areas with higher pedestrian volumes. The curb extensions will reduce the length of pedestrian crossings across the roadway while making pedestrians and drivers more visible to each other.
Project Timeline
As of Spring 2026 (SUBJECT TO CHANGE):
  • Construction is ongoing, with full completion expected by Early Summer 2026. 
  • Major work on this project is to be completed prior to the Summer 2026 Phase of the​ I-65 Central Corridor Project.

Information related to traffic impacts will be shared online and via press releases​.
