David Gormley is the Director of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Division of Professional Services, bringing more than 40 years of combined experience in public- and private-sector engineering and project management.
Gormley joined KYTC’s Division of Highway Design in 2005 following 22 years in the private sector, where he worked as a project manager with Municipal Engineering Company. In 2015, he transitioned to the Division of Professional Services and was named Assistant Director in 2019. In that role, he was responsible for project scoping, consultant negotiations, professional services coordination, and staff supervision.
With more than 21 years of service to KYTC, Gormley now leads the Division of Professional Services and its continued mission of advertising, procuring, negotiating, and administering consultant engineering contracts throughout the Commonwealth. His experience in both the private and public sectors provides a broad perspective on consultant selection, contract administration, project delivery, and the professional services necessary to support Kentucky’s transportation infrastructure.
