 It is with much regret but best wishes that after a 30-year career with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Clairessa Hamilton (affectionately known as Ressie), will retire on April 30. Ressie has devoted her career to the Cabinet, assisting with the procurement of consultant contracts even before the inception of the Division of Professional Services.

In January 1990, Ressie was hired as a Clerk but after dedicating three decades of service and numerous well-deserved promotions, Ressie will retire as the Administrative Section Supervisor in Professional Services. Her experience has been vital towards prequalification of consultants, consultant selection committees, and ensuring prompt consultant payment.

“I have really enjoyed my career with the Cabinet. I have been blessed to work with so many wonderful people here, in our Districts, and in our consultant industry,” said Ressie. “The best part is that I truly think of most of them as my friends and family rather than co-workers.”

Under her guidance, Ressie has fostered a servant-leader, customer-service attitude for KYTC peers and consultants alike. The Cabinet will miss her institutional knowledge, her loyalty to the Cabinet, and her willingness to do all she could for her colleagues and the industry.

To celebrate Ressie as an employee, a colleague, and a friend, the Division of Professional Services will host a farewell retirement reception in her honor on Friday, April 26th from 2-4pm in the KYTC Mero Street Café.
