No narrative or documentation were offered that describe the process by which automated edit checks and validation rules ensure that submitted EMS data falls within the range of acceptable values and is logically consistent among fields. The IPOP manual referenced in the response is for the Inpatient Outpatient Data System and does not appear to contain validation rules or edit checks for the EMS data system.
