Interstate 65 in Louisville will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1- July 31 to speed progress on replacing 3 aging bridges.
The closure will save at least a year of construction restrictions, and a signed detour will be in place. Local street closures and ramp closures will also be needed.

Embankment failure repairs to result in delays for drivers using KY 89 in Estill County
Travel between Irvine and Winchester to be affected

JACKSON, KY – Beginning Thursday, Jan. 7, and continuing for at least four weeks, an embankment failure repair project on a two-mile segment of KY 89 in northern Estill County will result in delays for drivers using this route.

A contractor working on behalf of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be drilling steel to stabilize breaks in pavement in eight locations on KY 89 between the KY 1886 intersection and the Clark County line. Work will begin at milepoint 22.3, just south of the Red River bridge at the county line, and proceed south.

Drivers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes while this work is ongoing. These delays will affect drivers who use KY 89 to travel to Trapp or Winchester from Irvine, and vice versa. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the work zone and controlled by temporary traffic signals. Drivers should obey these signals and should watch for workers and equipment in the affected area.

Motorists who normally use KY 89 to travel between Irvine and Winchester may wish to consider using KY 82 and the Mountain Parkway through Clay City as an alternate route to avoid delays.
