Traffic Advisory: KY 2 to Close Near Greenup for Slide Repairs Next Week
All traffic detoured Monday through Wednesday
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (June 4, 2021) – Slide repairs will require the temporary closure of KY 2 near Greenup in Greenup County for several days next week.
Beginning Monday, June 7, state highway crews will close KY 2 about a half mile west of US 23 at Greenup (milepoint 16.4) to excavate and repair a slide above the highway. Crews will keep KY 2 closed, day and night, at the work location through Wednesday, June 9, or until work is complete.
Motorists may detour using KY 3307, or KY 1 and KY 2433 (not suitable for commercial traffic). Electronic message boards will be used to alert traffic to closures and schedule changes.
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
