Pond Run Road (KY 750) reopens Thursday at Raceland
$3 million upgrade substantially complete
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Oct. 16, 2013) – A rebuilt section of Pond Run Road (KY 750) at Raceland will reopen Thursday, Oct. 17, now that a $3 million project to improve the state highway between US 23 and Greenup Avenue is substantially complete.
The project, which began in May, included a new roadbed and pavement, culvert replacements, a retaining wall, dedicated left- and right-turn lanes with new traffic signals and US 23 left-turn lane extensions. The goal was to improve travel conditions and safety for motorists who use the KY 750 corridor to access the City of Raceland.
The contractor, Mike Enyart & Sons Inc., recently finished retaining wall construction and paving on the roadway, which has been closed for several months. It will reopen Thursday, although workers will remain in the area to complete cleanup and other final details of the project. Motorists should continue to drive with caution.
The work was done under a $2,959,750 low-bid Transportation Cabinet contract awarded earlier this year.
