Interstate 65 in Louisville will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1- July 31 to speed progress on replacing 3 aging bridges. The closure will save at least a year of construction restrictions, and a signed detour will be in place. Local street closures and ramp closures will also be needed.

Improvements begin on five northeast Kentucky highway bridges
Part of $700,000 project; watch for one-lane traffic FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (March 28, 2019) – Contractors will improve five northeast Kentucky highway bridges through a $700,000 state Transportation Cabinet project now under way. Improvements include a new concrete driving surface and waterproofing on the following bridges: - Fleming County: the KY 3304 bridge over Rock Lick Creek (milepoint 2.7)
- Lewis County: the KY 59 bridge over Dry Run Creek (milepoint 23)
- Lewis County: the KY 377 bridge over Kinniconick Creek (milepoint 8.5)
- Greenup County: the KY 7 bridge over Little White Oak Creek (milepoint 3.6)
- Mason County: the KY 596 bridge over North Fork of the Licking River (MP 5)
Work started Wednesday, March 27, on the KY 3304 bridge in Fleming County. The bridge will be one-lane with traffic controlled by temporary signals until work is complete.
Construction will move to the KY 59 bridge in Lewis County in April, followed by the KY 377 and KY 7 bridges, and the MY 596 bridge in Mason County in May. Again, bridges being worked on will be restricted to one-lane traffic controlled by temporary signals.
Contractors have until Nov. 15 to complete the project, with each bridge under construction for only 30 calendar days.
Work is being done by M&M Services Inc. under a $703,261.47 low-bid contract awarded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet last fall.
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
