Interstate 65 in Louisville will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1- July 31 to speed progress on replacing 3 aging bridges.
The closure will save at least a year of construction restrictions, and a signed detour will be in place. Local street closures and ramp closures will also be needed.

Road work starting for KY 32 improvements at Ewing, Ward elementary schools in Fleming County

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (July 13) — Work is starting on a nearly $3 million project to improve KY 32 near Ewing and Ward elementary schools in Fleming County.

The project includes widening, pavement reconstruction, addition of turn lanes and traffic safety enhancements such as reducing hills and curves to increase sight distance on the highway. In addition, work will realign the KY 32 and KY 165 (Ewing Road) intersection to improve traffic movement and safety.

Contractors plan to start water line replacement, clearing and grading this week along KY 32 between Elizaville and Ewing Road near Ewing Elementary. Major road reconstruction will take place through August and September, with a tentative Oct. 1 completion date.

On KY 32 near Ward Elementary, water line work and road rebuilding is expected to start in August, with paving under way by October and expected completion in November.

Road construction schedules are dependent upon weather and utility relocation schedules.

During construction, motorists should expect one-lane traffic in work areas with traffic controlled by flaggers or temporary signals. Speed limits will be reduced to 35 miles per hour in work zones.

Work is being done under a $2,923,120.97 low-bid Kentucky Transportation Cabinet contract awarded to H.G. Mays Corporation.
