Interstate 65 in Louisville will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1- July 31 to speed progress on replacing 3 aging bridges.
The closure will save at least a year of construction restrictions, and a signed detour will be in place. Local street closures and ramp closures will also be needed.

Slip closes Sardis Road (US 62) at mile marker 6.5 in Mason County

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. — A roadside slip on Sardis Road (US 62) in southwest Mason County has worsened, requiring the temporary closure of the highway near the 6.5 mile marker between Middleton Hill Road and Murphysville Road east of the KY 596 intersection.

The road had been reduced to one lane with daytime closures as Kentucky Department of Highways crews worked to make repairs. Overnight Tuesday, May 26, the slip advanced, undermining the road's surface. To ensure traffic safety, US 62 will now remain closed day and night at the slip location until repairs are complete.

Crews are continuing to build a retaining wall to contain the slip, then will rebuild the damage section of pavement. Until work is complete, which could take until mid-June, the road will be barricaded near the slip area and all through traffic should detour using US 68 and KY 324:
  • If you're traveling from the Sardis/Mt. Olivet area to Maysville or east of Middleton Hill, take KY 324 through Mays Lick to US 68 to Old Washington to return to US 62 or continue on to Maysville.
  • If you're traveling from Maysville to Sardis/Mt. Olivet or west of Murphysville Road, reroute to US 68 at Old Washington to KY 324 at Mays Lick then return to US 62 at Shannon Creek.
