Traffic Advisory: KY 1325 one lane at Cassidy Creek near Flemingsburg
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Nov. 25, 2014) – The Kentucky Department of Highways has restricted the Cassidy Creek bridge on Energy Road (KY 1325) in Fleming County to one lane and imposed a three-ton weight limit on the structure.
The traffic changes began today, Tuesday, Nov. 25, as a safety precaution after an inspection found significant deterioration of steel beams under the 18-foot bridge, which is located about one mile south of KY 32 at Martha Mills Road near Flemingsburg and which serves about 1,000 vehicles a day.
At the bridge, traffic is being maintained in one lane by temporary signals. Motorists should slow down approaching the area, and expect delays. Wide loads and heavy vehicles should detour along KY 170 through Elizaville.
A repair date is not yet known, but engineers are assessing what can be done to return the bridge to normal traffic as quickly as possible. Until repairs can be made, traffic restrictions will remain in place.
