TRAFFIC ADVISORY: KY 5 One Lane at Bellefonte for Utility Work
Expect flagged traffic, Lycan Road to Patton Drive, next 90 days
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Aug. 24, 2020) – Utility work will impact traffic on KY 5 at Bellefonte in Boyd and Greenup counties over the next few months.
Beginning this week, the week of August 24, Columbia Gas of Kentucky will install new gas main and service lines to customers along KY 5 from just before Lycan Road to just after Patton Drive at Bellefonte. During daytime work hours, KY 5 will be restricted to one-lane traffic controlled by flaggers. The work will take approximately 90 days.
Due to high volumes of traffic on KY 5, motorists should expect delays and should adjust travel plans accordingly.
The utility work is part of a Columbia Gas project to upgrade its delivery system in the Ashland area, and is being done under an approved permit with the Kentucky Department of Highways.
