Traffic Advisory: Repairs require temporary daytime closures of KY 1658 in Nicholas County

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (April 22, 2019) – Embankment and pavement repairs along KY 1658 (Persimmon Ridge Road) in Nicholas County will require daytime traffic closures for the next several weeks.

As of today, April 22, crews with Kentucky Department of Highways District 9 are repairing several roadside slip areas along KY 1658 – beginning about three-tenths of a mile north of Stoney Creek Road, and working north along the highway to about a mile south of Goose Creek-Ishmael Chapel road.

The repairs will require KY 1658 to be closed each day from about 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. where crews are working. School bus traffic will not be affected. All other traffic should heed warning signs, and detour accordingly for the next two to three weeks.

In addition, during non-working hours, motorists are reminded to travel with caution as the road is reduced to one lane with temporary signals around the 3 mile marker just north of Hollar Road.

Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
