Traffic Advisory: Survey crew working along US 60 in Bath, Rowan counties this week
Watch for crews Thursday, Friday, 8-7

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Jan. 28, 2018) – Survey crews will be working along US 60 in Bath and Rowan County this week collecting data for an upcoming highway safety improvement project.

Beginning Thursday, January 31, and continuing through Friday, February 1, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, employees of Gresham Smith (GS) will survey drainage pipes under US 60 as well as under driveways and side roads along six miles the highway – between Salt Lick and Lakeview Heights, mile markers 17 to 20 in Bath County and 0 to 3 in Rowan County.

Landowners should note that GS are official contractors working for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Most work will occur inside the state highway right of way. However, work may require surveyors to enter private property to access the drainage pipes near the roadway. The GS vehicle will be identified on its doors and will have a beacon on top.

This field work is necessary to inventory existing drainage structures for a US 60 safety improvement project that will improve the highway's shoulders, curves, and roadside ditches.

Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones, and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
