Interstate 65 in Louisville will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1- July 31 to speed progress on replacing 3 aging bridges. The closure will save at least a year of construction restrictions, and a signed detour will be in place. Local street closures and ramp closures will also be needed. The KY 1136 (Gilead Church Road) widening and railroad crossing improvement project was awarded to Louisville Paving Company, Inc. on August 6th, 2025. The awarded contract bid is $20,464,537 with an overall completion date of August 30th, 2027. The project includes a milestone completion date of September 1st, 2026 for the roundabout intersection with US 31W. Follow KYTC District 4 Social Media for project updates and traffic impacts.
