Interstate 65 in Louisville will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1- July 31 to speed progress on replacing 3 aging bridges. The closure will save at least a year of construction restrictions, and a signed detour will be in place. Local street closures and ramp closures will also be needed.

Temporary Closure of I-64 West On-Ramp in Jefferson County
Ramp part of improvement project LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 3, 2020) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a temporary ramp closure in Jefferson County. The ramp from 9th Street to I-64 West is closed as contractors address issues with a barrier wall. Motorists can follow the signed detour:
- 9th Street to West Jefferson Street to North 21st Street to I-64 West
This work is part of a ramp improvement project that will impact multiple ramps in Jefferson County. The on-ramp from 9th Street to I-64 East will also be closed as part of the work beginning this weekend.
