Purpose
Provide improved connectivity to I-265 for motorists from Oldham County, Shelby County, and far eastern Jefferson County.

This proposed improvement to KY 3084 (Old Henry Road) in Jefferson County begins transitioning from rural to urban at its intersection with Bush Farm Road just east of the I-265 interchange and continues eastward with a New Route extension to KY 362 (Ash Avenue) in Oldham County.

The majority of the land in the area is for residential use.  However, near the interchange, numerous industrial sites, commercial sites, office spaces, and outpatient medical facilities exist.  The new route will most likely serve the numerous residential sites that are located to the east of the interchange in Jefferson County and further into Oldham and Shelby Counties.
Project Scope
KY 3084 (Old Henry Road) widening to a three-lane urban typical with a new route connection over to KY 362 (Ash Avenue)

Project Timeline
The new route connecting KY 3084 (Old Henry Road) and KY 362 (Ash Avenue) is now open. Work to complete some final details of the project is still underway, and intermittent lane closures are possible. The project, which began in October 2022, was completed ahead of schedule.
Typical Section
The existing roadway is primarily a two-lane facility with 10-foot lanes and minimal shoulders.  The posted speed limit varies from 45- to 35- to 30 mph.  Since the area will continue to transition from rural to urban, the proposed alternatives used an urban template.
The three-lane typical section and new route as proposed will improve access and greatly improve connectivity.

Public Input
A public meeting was held on September 20, 2011, to present all alternatives and additional information to area residents and motorists. Public comments regarding this project were accepted up to 15 days after the meeting.
