KY 1065 (Outer Loop) Planning Study - 5-80203.00

Purpose	The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is conducting a planning study evaluating potential improvements to KY 1065 (Outer Loop) from I-65 to KY 2052 (Shepherdsville Road) in Jefferson County. The Outer Loop Transportation Study will identify short-term and long-term improvements for the roughly three-mile corridor.
Project Scope	The scope includes potential improvements for KY 1065 between I-65 and KY 2052 (Shepherdsville Road).
Type of Project	Planning study. *Only the planning phase is funded in the 2024-2030 Enacted Highway Plan. Additional funding to advance the project further must be secured in future Highway Plans.

Public Input	The first of two public meetings for the Outer Loop Transportation Study was held on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the South Central Regional Library.
Project Timeline	The final study report, which is expected to be completed in Summer 2026, will include input from the initial and second public meetings. Design Funding (STPF) is included within the FY 2026 Highway Plan* *The above-anticipated project milestone dates are subject to change due to changes in funding availability within the next Enacted Highway Plan.
