Purpose​

KYTC is conducting a transportation planning study for the I-65 and I-265 interchange in Jefferson County. This study will examine potential improvement concepts to address congestion and safety at the I-65 and I-265 interchange.
Project Scope

This study will include all interchange ramps and will also consider impacts from the proposed KY 841/Air Commerce Drive Interchange.

Public Input

A second public meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the South Central Regional Library (7300 Jefferson Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40219) to present potential improvement concepts for the interchange to the public. 

While the meeting is hosted at the South Central Regional Library, the meeting is not sponsored or endorsed by the Louisville Free Public Library.

Those who are interested may drop in at any time to receive handouts with project information and to provide comments on potential improvement concepts.

An online public survey will also be made available following the public meeting through Sept. 30, 2026: bit.ly/I65I265study.

The final report is expected to be published by the end of 2026.

The first public meeting was held April 2, 2026, at the South Central Regional Library, to present information and gather feedback from citizens. 

Timeline & ResultsThis planning study was initiated in Fall 2025 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
