Franklin County: KY 676 (East-West Connector) Bridge Replacement - Project 5-10045

The project is located along KY 676 (East-West Connector) at the bridge crossing the Kentucky River just north of the intersection of KY 676 and KY 420 (Old Lawrenceburg Road).  This project would involve replacing the structure with a new bridge.

As of Summer 2026 (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)*:

• The project is currently in the design phase, with an expected timeline of 2023-2027
• KYTC anticipates a construction timeline of 2028-2030.

• ​Phased construction will reduce the number of travel lanes through the project site.  
• Short-term closures of KY 676 and river traffic under the bridge are anticipated for certain demolition activities.  
• The contractor may use portions of Capitol View Park near the bridge for construction access and staging areas. This would temporarily  serve portions of the mountain bike trail system.  
• The contractor may use an area adjacent to the public boat ramp on the west side of the KY River for construction access and staging areas. The boat ramp is expected to remain open for public use.
• KY 1263 (Big Eddy Road) is expected to experience some long-term closures, requiring traffic to be detoured via KY 420 (Old Lawrenceburg Road).  
  
• *No residential properties will be impacted, but traffic flow will be affected during construction.​
