Traffic shift to occur on KY 914 in Pulaski County Monday
Motorists advised to pay close attention to work zone signage
Somerset, Ky. (April 24, 2015) – Construction is progressing on the widening of the Somerset Southeast Bypass (KY 914) and with that comes traffic shifts.
On Monday, April 27, beginning at the intersection of KY 914 and KY 192 eastbound only KY 914 traffic will be shifted from the current driving lanes onto the newly constructed lanes.
Motorists are reminded that speed limits are currently reduced along KY 914 to 45 mph and when approaching KY 914 at intersections to be sure and stop behind marked stop bars. Drivers are encouraged to pay close attention to signage throughout the work zone.
Lane closures, lane restrictions as well as flaggers and construction personnel working in close proximity to traffic flow should be expected. Appropriate caution is required. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Hinkle Contracting Company, LLC is the prime contractor for the $15.5 million project. Work is expected to be completed by August 1. The duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destinations.
