Traffic Advisory: Sidewalk work, paving set for Morehead bypass
Week of July 24 through August
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (July 20, 2017) – Pavement upgrades along the US 60 bypass in downtown Morehead will start next week, the week of July 24, as contractors repair sidewalks and crosswalks in advance of an August resurfacing project.
Work will take place along nearly a mile and a half of US 60 between the KY 519 intersection through downtown Morehead past University Boulevard to the East Main Connector intersection.
For the sidewalk work, motorists should expect shoulder closures and occasional flagged traffic when crews are pouring concrete. Watch signs and message boards for details.
Resurfacing work will take place through August, with work zones advancing along the bypass from the KY 519 end eastward. Two-way traffic will be maintained. However, turn lane restrictions and intersection paving will cause delays. Detailed schedules will be announced.
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
