Traffic Advisory: Trace Road paving begins July 5 in Boyd County
Expect blocked lanes, significant delays
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (June 29, 2017) – Motorists should expect significant delays on Trace Road (KY 966) in Boyd County after the holiday next week when contractors pave three and half miles of the state highway.
Beginning Wednesday morning, July 5, crews will apply new blacktop to Trace Road (KY 966) from its KY 3 (milepoint 0.0) intersection to just north of Riva Ridge Road (milepoint 3.6).
During daytime work hours – approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. – traffic will be restricted to one lane. However, due to narrow travel lanes, traffic could be stopped for lengthy periods of time. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. The work will take about three days to complete.
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
