​Traffic Advisory: KY 2, KY 989 bridges one-lane for overlay project; One-lane traffic next 30 days

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Aug. 18, 2017) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will start $237,000 in bridge improvements in Greenup and Lewis counties next week.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 21, contractors will reduce the following bridges to one lane for a surface overlay project:

- Greenup County: KY 2 bridge over Leatherwood Creek (milepoint 1.9)
- Lewis County: KY 989 bridge over Salt Creek at the intersection of the AA Highway (milepoint 12.6)

Over the next 30 days, crews will replace the concrete surface of each bridge and perform other maintenance work. Traffic will remain one lane controlled by temporary signals until work is complete.

The project is being done under a $236,470.20 low-bid contract awarded by the Transportation Cabinet to M&M Services Co. Inc.
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
