Purpose
The purpose of the Preston Transportation Plan study is to determine needs and evaluate concepts to improve safety, reduce congestion, and improve multi-modal transportation options along KY-61 from Commerce Crossings Drive to Briden Avenue, or just south of I-265 to just north of I-264.
Project Scope
This study includes a full analysis of existing conditions along the corridor that will be used to develop practical solutions and improvement concepts to boost roadway safety, address congestion issues and improve traffic flow.
The study will focus on short-term and long-term improvements that KYTC and Louisville
Metro can use for further project development and implementation.

Public Input
An initial public meeting was held on May 21, 2024, to update the community on the Preston Transportation Plan and to gather feedback regarding the study. The project team and KYTC accepted feedback and suggestions from attendees and have developed a series of improvement concepts to share with the public.
