Purpose	The purpose of the Preston Transportation Plan study is to determine needs and evaluate concepts to improve safety, reduce congestion, and improve multi-modal transportation options along KY-61 from Commerce Crossings Drive to Briden Avenue, or just south of I-265 to just north of I-264.
Project Scope	This study includes a full analysis of existing conditions along the corridor that will be used to develop practical solutions and improvement concepts to boost roadway safety, address congestion issues and improve traffic flow. The study will focus on short-term and long-term improvements that KYTC and Louisville Metro can use for further project development and implementation.

Public Input	An initial public meeting was held on May 21, 2024, to update the community on the Preston Transportation Plan and to gather feedback regarding the study. The project team and KYTC accepted feedback and suggestions from attendees and have developed a series of improvement concepts to share with the public. Public Meeting: Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 5 - 7 p.m. South Central Regional Library 7300 Jefferson Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40219 Open-house event, no formal presentation During the upcoming public meeting on Oct. 24, 2024, KYTC and the project team will present design concepts that reflect the input received from the initial phase of the study.* Input received from the 2024 public meetings and survey efforts will be compiled and considered as potential study concepts are developed. In compliance with Title VI, translation services are offered. Project Timeline	May 2024: Public meeting October 2024: Present improvement concepts at a second public meeting and collect feedback. December 2024: Draft planning study report February 2025: The final planning study is expected to be completed. Input received from the 2024 public meetings and survey efforts will be compiled and considered as potential study concepts are developed.
