Interstate 65 in Louisville will close between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1- July 31 to speed progress on replacing 3 aging bridges.
The closure will save at least a year of construction restrictions, and a signed detour will be in place. Local street closures and ramp closures will also be needed.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) commissioned the Brent Spence Strategic Corridor Study to analyze multiple options to rel​ieve congestion and improve cross-river mobility in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region. Global engineering firms Stantec, AECOM and other consulting firms worked in partnership on the year-long Brent Spence Strategic Corridor study. The study considered five concepts to ease congestion and divert traffic from the Brent Spence Bridge and five other crossings.
