Automotive Technician Specialist Apprentice

Gain practical hands-on experience with pay at the local Department of Highways while enrolled in an Automotive or Diesel Technology Program through the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS).

Program Requirements

  • Two-year program (2000 hours combined schooling and work experience)
  • Four-month probation
  • Satisfactory work ethic
  • Willingness to learn and take direction

Qualifications

  • 18 years or older
  • Valid driver's license
  • Acceptable Criminal Record Report
  • Enrolled in an Automotive or Diesel Technology Program through KCTCS

 

Earn a nationally recognized credential in addition to a college degree. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Automotive Technician Specialist Apprenticeship is a registered program that meets national standards for registration with the U.S. Department of Labor and the Kentucky Office of Apprenticeship.  Learn more about the Apprenticeship Program (HERE).​
