Contractors shall provide a hammer within rated energy range noted in the plans, 50,000 lb-ft to 90,000 lb-ft. Smaller hammers will not be sufficient to properly drive piles.

Temporary paint may be used on the surface prior to, and after diamond grinding. If temporary paint is utilized on the final surface of the concrete, water blasting shall be used to completely remove all temporary paint. Temporary paint shall not be used on asphalt final surfaces, temporary tape shall be required. An addendum will be posted to remove the bid items for temporary paint and water blasting. These items, including temporary tape, shall be incidental to Maintain & Control Traffic.

The intent is for the guardrail to be “down” the minimum length of time necessary.
