(October 4, 2021) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that cross drain operations start Tuesday, October 5 on a portion of KY 577 in Jackson County between the intersection with KY 30 (mile point 3.156) and intersection with Moores Creek Green Hill Road (mile point 4.831).

The roadway will be closed to through traffic on Tuesday, October 5, Wednesday, October 6, Thursday, October 7 and Friday, October 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.

MANCHESTER, Ky. (October 4, 2021) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that pavement operations start Tuesday, October 5 on a portion of I-75 (mile points 11.2 to Kentucky/Tennessee state line) in Whitley County.

As part of the asphalt rehab project on I-75, motorists traveling I-75 southbound can expect intermittent lane closures from mile point 11.2 to the Kentucky/Tennessee state line until the evening of Friday, October 8 due to the pavement operations.

Work hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

Slide Repair Operations Start Monday, October 4 on a Portion of U.S. 421 in Harlan County 

MANCHESTER, Ky. (September 29, 2021) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that slide repair operations start Monday, October 4 on a portion of U.S. 421 at mile point 22.8 (0.30 miles south of KY 221) in Harlan County.

The roadway will be reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals beginning Sunday, October 3. Traffic shifts will be necessary with traffic running on gravel surface.

The contractor plans to work extended shifts, including 24-hour shifts during some of the slide repair operations. Weekend work is also possible.

A completion date for the slide operations is tentatively set for Sunday, July 31, 2022.

MANCHESTER, Ky. (September 2, 2021) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 11 Office advises motorists that a bridge replacement project in Knox County starts on Tuesday, September 7, pending relocation of a water line.

This project will replace the East Bennett Branch Road bridge over Little Poplar Creek and will utilize a temporary onsite diversion during construction. The traffic impact time is up to 60 days, and the new bridge is expected to open to traffic by Saturday, November 6, 2021.

Bridging Kentucky Project Starts on Thursday, August 12 in Harlan County

MANCHESTER, Ky. (August 9, 2021) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 11 Office advises motorists that a bridge replacement project in Harlan County starts on Thursday, August 12.

This project will replace the Wilson Road Bridge over Martins Fork Creek and will include a realignment for the new bridge. Traffic will continue to utilize the current structure until the new bridge is in place. Construction will take up to 90 days, and the new bridge is expected to open to traffic by Wednesday, November 10.

MANCHESTER, Ky. (August 9, 2021) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 11 Office advises motorists that a bridge replacement project in Clay County starts on Monday, August 16.

This project will replace the Eriline Road Bridge over Red Bird River and the bridge will be completely closed during construction and traffic will be detoured utilizing Eriline Road and KY 66. This bridge will be closed for up 75 days with an expected open to traffic date of Saturday, October 2.

Paving and railroad track repair Operations Set to Begin on U.S. 25E in Knox County on Tuesday, August 10

MANCHESTER, Ky. (August 4, 2020) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that paving and railroad track repair operations on U.S. 25E (mile point 11.858) in Knox County will begin Tuesday, August 10 at 8 a.m., and is expected to end Wednesday, August 11 at 6 p.m.

Southbound traffic will be diverted onto the northbound lane on Tuesday, August 10 while northbound traffic will be diverted onto the southbound lane on Wednesday, August 11.

KYTC District 11 crews will perform the paving operations while CSX will perform the railroad track repair operations.

The closure is necessary for the demolition of an overhead bridge on I-75.  Detour signs will be posted for an alternate route.
