PPG Pilots of all skill levels are invited to join us for the very first Fly-In at the Falls of Rough River Lake! The airport at Rough River State Park is the perfect location for a family fun event featuring ammenities like mini-golf, disk golf, lodge with diner, pontoon/kayak rentals, and beach swimming area all within walking distance of the airstrip. Falls of Rough Resort is only 3.5 miles away that hosts an 18 hole golf course (discounts available to us), swimming pool, and historic mansion. Nightly rentals available as low as $20 p/p for day rooms (bed/dresser room with communal bathroom/shower). Restrooms and climate controlled planning office are located adjacent to the runway and parking lot. Admission = Free Campers = $20 all weekend. Limited Spots Available Tent Camp = $10 all weekend. Food is available at the State Park Diner (walking distance) or Falls of Rough Resort (3.5 miles). Grilling is allowed in permitted areas. Lodging is available at the State Park, motels across the street, or at Falls of Rough Resort (contact Brennan for special rates). Sunrise Mission Flight to the Resort to eat breakfast! Fly to the north to discover picturesque farmland and open crop fields. Head east and fly Rough River Lake - the lake will turn into a river that is deep between hillsides for thrill seeking aviators. South leads pilots through wide valleys between 400 foot high hills. West will take seasoned pilots through dense forests with pockets of open homesteads. Following Rough River this way offers some of the best low-level precision flying experiences as you meander through river bottom fields seeing more deer than you can count. Camping and camper spots are FCFS upon arrival. Power is not available, common area plugs are located in the FBO. Generators are welcome.
