Traffic Demand Modeling

For its traffic demand modeling activities, the Transportation Cabinet has selected TransCAD software. For information on this software, click here. Traffic Demand Models are available upon request for use on state projects. Model categories are listed below:

Small urban area models
MPO urban area model
The Kentucky Statewide Traffic Model
County-level models
Sub area models

Ky Traffic Demand Model Users Group(MUG) includes representatives from KYTC, Kentucky Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), the consulting industry, academia, and other state DOTs. The MUG meets three times per year to address current traffic demand modeling issues.
