Ramp / Landing / Tie-Down Fees

Q: Are there state regulations that govern airport service fees?
A: Yes. [602 KAR 15:030]

Q: Does the airport have a ramp fee?
A: No

Q: Does the airport have tie-downs, and is there a fee for this?
A: The airport charges the following overnight tie-down fees:

  • $5 for Single Engines
  • $10 for Twin Engines and Turbo Props
With a top off of fuel, your first day of tie-down parking is free.

Fuel Information

Q: How do I get a discount on fuel?
A: We offer fuel discounts as follows: 

  • Self-Serve discount Jet-A and 100LL $00.25 off per gallon
  • Jet-A: 
    • 301-600 gallons $0.10 off per gallon
    • 601-900 gallons $0.20 off per gallon
    • 901+ gallons $0.30 off per gallon

Q: Does FFT have contract fuel?
A: Yes, we have Titan contract fuel. 

Q: How can I be sure I am receiving quality fuel services?
A: All employees of the Capital City Airport receive quality control and fuel management training as well as portable fire extinguisher training. Testing of fuel in storage tanks and fuel trucks is also performed and documented on a daily basis.

Callout Services

Q: Is after-hours service available?
A: Yes, call 502-564-3714 for after-hours services. Call-out fees may apply.


Rental Cars / Courtesy Car

Q: Does the airport provide a courtesy car?
A: The airport provides a courtesy shuttle to transport our customers within the local area on a first-come, first-served basis. There are some times at night and on weekends when this service may not be available due to staffing.  Please call ahead.

Q: How do I get a rental car?
A: There is an Enterprise Car Rental office located in Frankfort. Call them at 502-695-5542. 

A: Other car rental car companies may deliver to the airport. There are two vendors in Lexington. Avis Car Rental (859) 281-1681 or Hertz Car Rental at (859) 254-3496. 


WiFi

Q: Does the Capital City Airport provide wireless Internet service?
A: Yes, free wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) is provided.


Mechanic

Q: Do you have an onsite A&P Aircraft Mechanic?
A: Yes, Jeff Anderson, owner of Flight Fixins, provides major and minor airframe and powerplant repairs, inspections, and alterations on piston singles and twin, along with light turbine aircraft. Flight Fixins 502-229-0460.


Commercial Flights

Q: Are there commercial flight services available at the Capital City Airport?
A: There are no commercial flight services at the airport. Our main customers are the state government, Kentucky National Guard, businesses, private pilots, and charters.

Q. Are there any flight instructors available?
