Study Team Kicks Off Survey Effort at Fleming-Mason Airport | March 2016
The CDM Smith team initiated the inventory and survey of Kentucky’s airports with a training session at Fleming-Mason Airport on March 17. Airport board chairman John Sims and airport/FBO manager Mitch Coleman graciously offered the use of their airport to serve as a training ground for going over the airport inventory and data survey to iron out any wrinkles. Kentucky Department of Aviation officials Craig Farmer and Joe Carter were in attendance to provide guidance on the data gathering effort. With the valuable lessons learned from this experience, the CDM Smith team will be contacting the other system airports to schedule site visits and gather the data needed for the Kentucky Statewide Aviation System Plan.
