Recognizing that constructability challenges with highway construction projects are obstacles to the Cabinet’s goals, this program of the Quality Assurance Branch works in coordination with the Project Managers to intercept and resolve constructability issues prior to letting. As appropriate, constructability reviewers are involved throughout the design phase of each project. A sample Constructability Review can be found here. Another tool is a spreadsheet containing Constructability Comments from past projects that can be filtered and sorted. These comments offer a good view of what a constructability review can offer your project while also serving as good resource for ideas while you review a set of plans.
