PADUCAH, Ky. (May 29, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is planning a work zone lane restriction on KY 1954/John Puryear Drive in McCracken County starting at 7 a.m. Friday, May 30.
A crew will be repairing a drain at mile point 6, near Hovekamp Road. One southbound lane will be blocked just past the traffic light at KY 450/Oaks Road.
Motorists should be alert for signage, equipment and flaggers directing traffic in the work zone. Use appropriate caution.
Work is expected to be completed by 2 p.m., weather permitting.

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 29, 2025) – Geotechnical drilling work continues on the Kentucky side of the U.S. 51 Ohio River “Cairo” Bridge, which connects Cairo, IL, and Wickliffe, KY.
Over the next few weeks, two crews will be drilling at various locations, both on and off the roadway, to collect data on soil and settlement conditions where new piers and abutments are planned.
When drilling operations are on the roadway near traffic flow, signage, flaggers and trucks with arrow boards will direct motorists to shift into the open lane. Use appropriate caution.

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 14, 2025) – Geotechnical drilling work near the U.S. 51 Ohio River “Cairo” Bridge, which connects Cairo, IL, and Wickliffe, KY, is ongoing this week.
Later this afternoon, the contractor expects to shift work to the Kentucky side of the bridge.
Drilling will take place at multiple locations both on and off the roadway. Motorists are advised to stay alert and reduce their speed when entering the work zone.
When drilling operations are on the roadway near traffic flow, signage, flaggers and trucks with arrow boards will direct motorists to shift into the open lane.

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 29, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Livingston County Highway Maintenance Crew plans to temporarily close a section of KY 133/Lola Road, east of its intersection with KY 135/Carrsville Road, starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 2.
The closure is necessary to stabilize a slide at the 13.8-mile marker on KY 133.
This closure will remain in effect around the clock, with completion anticipated by the end of the day on Friday, June 6, weather permitting.
Motorists may self-detour using KY 135/Carrsville Road to U.S. 60, then traveling toward Salem to return to KY 133/Lola Road.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 28, 2025) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to implement daytime and nighttime work zone lane restrictions along Interstate 24 in McCracken and Lyon counties on Thursday and Friday, weather permitting.
The work is part of a patching project to prepare sections of I-24 for a larger surfacing effort scheduled for mid-June.
Thursday – I-24 Westbound
During the day Thursday, crews will begin milling in the right-hand lane of I-24 westbound near mile point 14.85 in McCracken County.
Crews will then move to I-24 westbound near the weigh station in Lyon County. Milling work will be in the left-hand lane between mile points 35.6 and 36.33.
Crews will return Thursday night to pave in these same sections.
Friday – I-24 Eastbound (Lyon County only)
On Friday, the work zone shifts to I-24 eastbound in Lyon County. Milling will take place during the day, followed by paving overnight.
Work will be in the left-hand lane between mile points 36.5 and 37.8, or between the weigh station and I-24 Exit 40.
Motorists should be alert and watch for signage and trucks with arrow boards directing traffic to the open lane. Please slow down and use caution when approaching active work areas.
The overall project is expected to be completed by September 30, 2025.
KYTC District 1 will continue to share updates as the project progresses.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 27, 2025) – Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) mowing crews have started working in District 1 counties.
Motorists are urged to slow down and exercise caution when approaching mowing zones. Tractors may occasionally have to cross travel lanes as crews go about their work.
KYTC and contract mowing crews will be working during daylight hours whenever weather permits. Be alert for support vehicles and workers near the roadway.
Political signs and other advertisements are not permitted on state highway right-of-way and should be removed. Illegal signs may be removed from the right-of-way without notice to the owner.
Signs that are removed will generally be held for 10 working days at the local KYTC Department of Highway Maintenance Facility, allowing owners a chance to claim them. Unclaimed signs will be discarded after this period.
KYTC District 1 counties include Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Crittenden, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken and Trigg.

Passenger vehicles may detour via the U.S. 45 Ohio River "Brookport" Bridge. Due to restrictions, no semi-trucks or commercial vehicles are allowed to cross the Brookport Bridge.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 24, 2025) — The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is temporarily closed due to mechanical issues.
The ferry will notify the public of its reopening via their Facebook page.

The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects KY 1354 at Hickman, Kentucky, with Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Missouri.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 23, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet anticipates ongoing work zone construction and long-term maintenance activities at the following locations will impact traffic in District 1 counties:
Ballard CountyU.S. 60 has a reduced speed limit of 35 mph between Stafford Road (13.648 MP) in Ballard County and Bethel Church Road (0.385 MP) in McCracken County. This is for ongoing work near the new section of U.S. 60 being constructed around Kevil.
The intersection of U.S. 60/Kentucky Drive and KY 358/Bluegrass Drive in La Center will be a flashing four-way stop. Intersecting roadways are KY 358/Bluegrass Drive and Olive Street. Started on March 31. Estimated duration is unknown.
Calloway CountyA temporary diversion road is in place at the 10.843 MP on KY 121 South, southeast of Murray, around the construction of a new bridge over Clayton Creek. Reduced speed limit of 45 mph. Estimate for project completion around mid-September, weather permitting.
Crittenden CountyKY 387/Dam 50 Road is closed at the 0.77 MP for construction of a new Crooked Creek Bridge. This closure will block access to KY 91 for most residents along a 3-mile section of KY 387. Estimate for project completion around the end of August, weather permitting.
Fulton CountyKY 94/E. Carroll Street is closed due to a slide near the 12.7 MP in the city of Hickman. The roadway is closed to thru traffic.
KY 1129 is closed between the 7.47 and 7.917 MP due to closure of three bridges, Sampson Branch Bridge, Brush Creek Bridge and Sublett Creek Bridge. Currently under construction. Estimate for project completion around late June, weather permitting.
KY 1128 is closed at the 6.37 MP due to the closure of a bridge over Mud Creek. This section of KY 1128 is located between KY 1127 and KY 1212. Estimate for project completion by the end of the year.
KY 1907/Swamp Root Road is closed at the 1.727 MP at the Little Bayou de Chien Bridge. KY 1907 connects KY 94 and KY 781 northeast of the Cayce community. Estimate for project completion by the end of the year.
KY 2140 is closed at the 3.767 MP due to the closure of a bridge over Mud Creek. This section of KY 2140 is located between KY 94 and KY 1129. Estimate for project completion by the end of the year.
KY 1282 is closed at the 4.741 MP at the Owens Slough Bridge. This is between KY 311 and KY 925 near the intersection of Joe Parker Road. Estimate for project completion by the end of the year.
Graves CountyBeech Grove Road is closed at the 2.8 MP at the Mayfield Creek Bridge, about halfway between Antioch Church Road and Barnetts Chapel Road. It was in the February letting and the project was awarded. Estimated completion for the overall bridge replacement project is around mid-August.
KY 1485/Bellville Road is closed at the 2 MP at the Terrapin Creek Bridge about two miles north of the KY-TN State Line. This bridge is scheduled to be replaced. The project was in the March 2025 letting. Update to come.
KY 1748 is closed at the 0.12 MP at the Obion Creek Bridge. This section of KY 1748 is located between KY 339 and Oldham Lane, east of Wingo. Estimate for project completion by the end of the year.
KY 483 is closed at the 0.6 MP due to cross-drain damage caused by flooding. Materials have been ordered for the repair.
KY 2422 is closed at the 5.3 MP due to damage to the bridge approach caused by flooding.
Hickman CountyThe intersection of U.S. 51 and KY 58 in Clinton will be a flashing four-way stop as part of a 90-day traffic study. Intersecting roadways are KY 58/W. Clay Street and KY 123/E. Clay Street. Estimated study completion date is around mid-June.
KY 780 is closed at the 3.818 MP at the Bayou de Chien Bridge. This is between U.S. 51 and Martin Road. Estimate for project completion around Fall 2025.
KY 3061 is closed from the 5.992-6.910 MP due to washed-out pavement caused by flooding. Materials have been ordered for the repair.
Lyon CountyKY 295 is closed at the 9.419 MP at the Livingston Creek Bridge at the Crittenden-Lyon County Line. It was in the February letting and the project was awarded. Estimated completion for the overall bridge replacement project is around the end of August.
Nighttime lane restrictions (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) will be in place along Interstate 24 from the I-24 Cumberland River Bridge to KY 293 for a micro-paving project. The work zone has a reduced speed limit of 55 mph. No work zone during the holiday weekend; paused until Tuesday.
Marshall CountyKY 408/Eggners Ferry Road is closed between the 8.5 and 10.2 MP immediately east of Benton due to closure of multiple bridges along the Clarks River Wildlife Refuge. Currently under construction. Estimate for project completion is around early June, weather permitting.
McCracken CountyLane restrictions are in effect on the Interstate 24 Ohio River Bridge between Paducah and Metropolis until October 14. One lane in each direction. Concrete barriers will be installed across the length of the bridge with a 10-foot, 6-inch width restriction. Enhanced law enforcement presence and reduced speed limit of 55 mph in the work zone.
Nighttime lane restrictions (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) will be in place along Interstate 24 from Exit 16 to the I-24 Ohio River Bridge for a micro-paving project. The work zone has a reduced speed limit of 55 mph. No work zone during the holiday weekend; paused until Tuesday.
U.S. 60 has a reduced speed limit of 35 mph between Bethel Church Road (0.385 MP) in McCracken County and Stafford Road (13.648 MP) in Ballard County. This is for ongoing work near the new section of U.S. 60 being constructed around Kevil.
KY 358/Ogden Landing Road is closed at the 1.1 MP at the Redstone Branch Bridge, west of the Ragland community. Estimate for project completion by June 15, weather permitting.

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 23, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Livingston County Highway Maintenance Crew plans to temporarily close a section of KY 1608/Maxfield Road, near the intersection with KY 135/Carrsville Road, starting on Tuesday, May 27.
A crew will replace a cross drain near mile point 6.3, between Peck Branch Road and KY 135.
Work is expected to be completed by Thursday, May 29, weather permitting.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 23, 2025) – A KYTC contractor will continue paving along U.S. 68/Canton Road in Trigg County next week. Work will pause at noon today, Friday, May 23 for the holiday weekend, and resume on Tuesday, May 27.
The work zone is between the U.S. 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake and the U.S. 68/KY 80 Cumberland River/Lake Barkley Bridge.
The project has been delayed due to both severe weather and mechanical issues, and it is now expected to be completed by the end of June.

PADUCAH, Ky. (Apr. 30, 2025) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a daytime work zone along U.S. 68/Canton Road in Trigg County starting on Monday, May 5.
A crew will be milling and paving in smaller sections along U.S. 68/Canton Road from about the 0.23- to 8.28-mile points. This project will span from the U.S. 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake to the U.S. 68/KY 80 Cumberland River/Lake Barkley Bridge.
Work is expected to be completed in approximately three weeks, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert for signage and flaggers directing traffic to shift into the open lane in the work zone. Appropriate caution required.
Rogers Group is the primary contractor. This is part of a $3.16 million asphalt resurfacing project.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 22, 2025) – A daytime lane restriction will continue on Interstate 24 eastbound in Lyon County through midday Friday, May 23.
A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will begin work at 4:30 a.m. Friday and expects to finish by around 11 a.m. Crews will be sealing pavement cracks to complete this phase of the project.
The work zone is located between the Cumberland River Bridge and the KY 810 overpass, just east of the weigh station, or mile markers 33.9 to 36.4. A reduced speed limit of 55 mph is in effect in the work zone.
Motorists are urged to slow down, stay alert, and use extra caution where workers and equipment are in the roadway near traffic flow.
The project will pause over the holiday weekend.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 22, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has reduced the load limit to 3 tons on a section of KY 1346/Roosevelt Road in Calloway County.
The bridge located at mile point 1.38 over East Fork of Clarks River is now posted with a 3-ton load limit after an inspection crew found erosion caused by April flooding. This bridge is about one mile east of the Dexter community, between KY 1824 and KY 80.
The 3-ton limit restricts the bridge to vehicles no heavier than an SUV or an unloaded pickup truck. Signs have been installed at each end of the bridge. Commercial Driver License (CDL) holders are responsible for obeying bridge weight postings.
Repairs to the bridge will be scheduled.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 22, 2025) – High water has receded from state highways in KYTC District 1.

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 21, 2025) – The northbound ramp at Interstate 69 Exit 0 in Fulton County has reopened, and mowing work is complete.

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 20, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will temporarily block access to the northbound ramp at Interstate 69 Exit 0 at KY 2568/Eastwood Drive in Fulton County on Wednesday, May 21 to allow for mowing operations.
This exit also serves the state line weigh station.
Crews will be mowing and trimming behind the guardrails.
For a short time on Wednesday, there will also be a lane restriction in the right-hand lane on both sides of the bridge while crews are working.
Motorists should be alert for signage and trucks with arrow boards directing traffic in the work zone. Please use caution.
Work is expected to be completed by Wednesday afternoon, weather permitting.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 21, 2025) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a daytime lane restriction starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, along Interstate 24 in Lyon County to finish sealing cracks in the pavement.
The work zone is between the Cumberland River Bridge and I-24 Exit 45, and has a reduced speed limit of 55 mph.
While the previous sealing work was done at night — this will take place during the day. Please slow down, stay alert, and use caution in the work zone.
This is part of a $9.2 million project to seal and micro-pave sections of Interstates 24 and 69 in KYTC District 1.
All work on this project will be paused over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Micro-surfacing is expected to begin in approximately 30 days.
The overall project is expected to wrap up by September 30, 2025.
KYTC District 1 will continue to share updates as the project moves forward.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 21, 2025) – A contractor for the Tennessee Department of Transportation plans to continue work zone lane restrictions along sections of KY 116/State Line Road and Interstate 69/U.S. 51 in Fulton from May 28 to June 4.
A geotechnical crew will be working along KY 116/State Line Road between Old Pierce Road and U.S. 45/W. Highland Drive, or the 12.1 to 12.8-mile points. Motorists should be alert for one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.
There will also be lane and shoulders restrictions along Interstate 69/U.S. 51 near the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line. Drilling work will take place along this corridor between Industrial Park Road, across from South Fulton Middle and High School, in Tennessee to just south of KY 166/Middle Road in Kentucky. Motorists should be alert for signage and trucks with arrow boards guiding traffic to shift into the open lane in the work zone.
Lane restrictions will be active during daylight hours whenever weather allows.
Use caution where workers and equipment are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
This is part of the I-69 Interchange Re-configuration Project connecting the proposed Interstate 69 in Tennessee (currently U.S. 51) with Interstate 69 (formerly the Purchase Parkway) in Kentucky.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 21, 2025) – Motorists should be alert for a mobile work caravan along KY 305/Old Cairo Road in McCracken County. The work zone spans from near U.S. 60 in West Paducah to Coleman Road — or approximately mile points 4.03 to 9.3.
A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is currently installing edge rumble strips this week, with permanent striping to follow in the coming weeks.
Motorists should be alert for signage and flaggers around the continuously moving work zone. Appropriate caution required.
The entire paving project is expected to be completed by June 30.

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 19, 2025) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a daytime lane restriction along KY 95 in Marshall County starting Tuesday, May 20.
Crews will be sealing cracks in the pavement along KY 95 from U.S. 68 to U.S. 62, or mile points 0 to 4.07. The work is expected to take approximately four days, weather permitting.
Motorists should watch for signage and flaggers directing traffic in the work zone. Please slow down and use caution when approaching active work areas.
This work is part of a $418,000 paving project on KY 95 in Marshall County. Paving operations are scheduled to begin later this summer.
KYTC District 1 will provide updates as the project moves forward.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 19, 2025) – KY 58/Brewers Highway in Marshall County has reopened at mile marker 1.128.
The bridge now has a posted weight limit of 10 tons, allowing access for passenger vehicles.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 15, 2025) – Roadway repairs continue at the 1.128-mile marker of KY 58/Brewers Highway in Marshall County. Due to rain delays, the original completion timeline has been extended by approximately one week.
Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by May 23.
A bridge approach on KY 58/Brewers Highway was damaged during recent flooding events in February and April, and the roadway is currently closed approximately one mile east of the Graves-Marshall County Line.
The bridge will need to be replaced, and the project is scheduled for a Fall 2025 letting. This repair, however, will restore access for passenger vehicles until the roadway is closed again for construction of a new bridge.
Once reopened, the existing bridge will have a posted 10-ton weight limit.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 19, 2025) – KY 94 East in Calloway County is blocked to all traffic between mile points 11.6 and 12, due to a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident.
This is between Clayton Road and Eastwood Baptist Church, east of Murray.
Calloway County Fire-Rescue, the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office and Murray-Calloway County EMS are at the scene.
Emergency teams are asking all motorists to avoid this area until further notice.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 19, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Graves County Highway Maintenance Crew plans to close a section of KY 1820, starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, for roadway repairs.
KY 1820 will be closed at the 4.45-mile marker, near the community of Melber. This is between KY 2151 and KY 339/Clinton Road on the Graves-McCracken County Line.
Crews will remove an existing concrete box culvert that carries a tributary of Mayfield Creek under the roadway and replace it with a prefabricated aluminum culvert.
Work is expected to be completed by June 2, weather permitting.
Approximately 628 vehicles travel this section of KY 1820 in an average day.
KYTC District 1 will provide timely notice should the roadway reopen to traffic earlier than expected.
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 18, 2025) – Motorists are urged to use caution on Interstate 24 between mile markers 24 and 26 in Marshall County due to ongoing post-crash cleanup operations in the median.
A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is conducting environmental cleanup following a recent commercial vehicle fire near the I-24 Exit 25 Interchange.
As the work is confined to the median, minimal impact to traffic is anticipated. Estimated duration is about two hours.

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 16, 2025) – Following two rounds of severe storms that passed through the state earlier this evening, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 1 crews are out clearing fallen trees and debris from state highways in multiple counties.
Crews in Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Lyon and Marshall counties are reporting numerous downed trees.
