Emergency road aid funds awarded to Boyd, Bath, Nicholas, Lewis counties

For county road repairs

 

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Jan. 30, 2020) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet today announced Boyd, Bath, Nicholas and Lewis county fiscal courts will receive County Road Aid emergency funds for local road repairs. These repairs will make travel safer for motorists, school buses and other vehicles that rely upon these highways:

  • The Boyd County Fiscal Court will receive $136,000 for slide repairs on Almond Road. The repairs will take place on Almond Road (CR 1356) located about two miles north of Indian Trail. The Boyd County Fiscal Court is responsible for administering the work.
  • The Bath County Fiscal Court will receive $27,100 in County Road Aid emergency funds for slide repairs on North Stepstone Road.The repairs will take place on North Stepstone Road (CR 1219) located 1.1 miles south of US 60. The Bath County Fiscal Court is responsible for administering the work.
  • The Nicholas County Fiscal Court will receive $67,720 in County Road Aid emergency funds for slide repairs on Bus Clark Road and Crayton Creek Road. The repairs will take place on Bus Clark Road located 0.15 miles north of KY 392 extending north to milepoint 0.19; and on Crayton Creek Road (CR 1304) located 0.44 miles north of Crayton Creek extending north to 0.16 miles south of end of maintenance. The Nicholas County Fiscal Court is responsible for administering the work.
  • The Lewis County Fiscal Court will receive $60,550 in County Road Aid emergency funds for a drainage structure repair on Buck Lick Branch Road. The repairs will take place on Buck Lick Branch Road (CR 1233) located at mile marker 3 located about 1.4 miles west of KY 3310. The Lewis County Fiscal Court is responsible for administering the work.

"The Transportation Cabinet is pleased to approve this request for funding to provide assistance to Boyd County to repair and maintain safe connections in the community," said Transportation Secretary Jim Gray.
