Traffic Advisory: AA Highway lane shifts at Maysville for final paving

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Aug. 3, 2017) – Motorists using the AA Highway (KY 9) north of Maysville should watch for lane changes beginning tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 4, as paving continues on the Transportation Cabinet's road-widening project.

Contractors will split northbound and southbound AA Highway traffic to either side of the work area to continue final blacktopping. Lanes will shift into final configuration within the next week, once that paving is complete.

The traffic change comes as work progresses on an $18 million project to add another 5 miles of four-lane capacity to the AA Highway between KY 435 and the Clyde Barbour Parkway interchange at Maysville.

Two-way traffic is being maintained on the AA Highway during construction, with the speed limit reduced to 45 miles per hour in the work zone. In addition, motorists should continue to watch for occasional flagged traffic.

Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
